' Dear Sr* Hartman*
,' '
Your letter of July 15th addressed to the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation referred to an alleged case of lead poisoning reported to you by your Mr* A* L* Henry at Fairmont* West Virginia*

The natter was investigated by a repre
sentative of the Ethyl Gasoline C o r p o r a t ^ u ^ h o reported
that the individual who was sick* one
had had
lead poisoning as a result of painting* His physician had advised him to Stay away from Ethyl Gasoline for he would be unable to affect a cure in his condition* This was apparently the only connection of the illness with Ethyl Gasoline* The somewhat vague description of the
raan*s illness suggests a ve r y considerable doubt as to
its being lead poisoning* in any case the man is re
covering rapidly according to the report and since there is no reason to associate his illness with Ethyl Gasoline, it does not see advisable to have it further investigated*
I have not considered it.-;either necessary or-wise to have any member of the medical staff of the Corporation look into this cse* On the other hand, if any further develop ments occur, I should be glad to take any action which seems advisable at that tiste* Thus 1 would appreciate your in forming rae if anything further comes of the matter*
Very truly yours,
x:.-.
