Gentlemen:
RE: Balloon Flue--Plate Treater Plant
We are- pleased to quote the total sum of $20,102.00 to furnish and apply insulation in connection with the above referenced project. Our quotation is based on a complete insulation job for the areas shown on your drawings GP-10158 and CP-10159. The areas to be insulated shall be limited to the following: (1) flue--top, end, sides, and
bottom down to beam X28-P57; (2) roof area adjacent to the flue; and (3) one side panel (approximately three feet by twelve feet) of the Plate Treater Plant. We will furnish all material, labor, tools, scafolding, etc., necessary for a complete job as outlined in our proposal.
We propose to insulate the areas outlined above as follows: (1) the flue and the side
panel of the Plate Treater Plant shall be insulated with Owens-Coming Fiberglas Corp.*
Intermediate Service Board, two inches thick, impaled over ten gauge welded studs. A skim coat of insulating cement shall be applied #rer all insulated surfaces. All insulated surfaces shall be weatherproofed by applying hexagonal wire netting over the insulating cement and then coating the entire surface with a protective weather-coat mastic; (2) the roof area adjacent to the flue shall be insulated with PittsburghComing Corp.'s Foamglas block, two inches thick, applied and weatherproofed as outlined above for the flue.
We believe the insulation procedures outlined above will provide a highly efficient insulation job that will last for many years.
Applicable state' taxes are included in our quotation.
It will be necessary to provide some type of flashing for the roof area adjacent to the flue. Also a power source will be required to operate the stud gun we propose to use. We have not included these two items in our quotation. We also excluded preparation of existing surfaces to receive insulation. We understand that these three items can be taken care of by your people at the plant.
We appreciate very much the opportunity to quote on this project. We hope we may be of service to you.
Respectfully submitted.

Fiberglas* l-S Board Insulation is designed for use on boilers, breechings, ducts, chimney liners and other heated equipment operating at temperatures up to 850 F. It is designed for use in applications where an outside facing of steel sheet or metal mesh (with or without finishing cement) is provided.
Intermediate Service Insulation (l-S) is a lightweight insulation composed of Fiberglas fibers bonded together in semi-rigid, boardlike form with a special high tem perature binder.
