Fassuliotis MJtcrt MOBILE - OSHA INSPECTION - PHOTOGRAPHS Herb Drawdy called you today regarding an OSHA inspection, and the position of the inspector that he would be taking photographs, if necessary, during his inspection. In view of the general regulation against photographs in our plants. Herb Drawdy properly withheld approval, and contacted you. You advised him that if photographs were necessary we would take them and forward them, after clearance. The inspector advised that this was not consistent with the law, and that he would get a court order, and take whatever photographs he deemed necessary. Herb called back with information, but by then you were not available, so he contacted me. I checked with Mr. Martin, in Mr. Fassuliotis' absence, and he advised that the inspecor was wholly within his legal rights, and further, that inspectors had taken photographs at a number of GAF locations, including some where the confidentiality or "company-secret" aspect might be more critical than at Mobile. He suggested that we take a companion photograph of any area photo graphed by the inspector, also of companion samplings, where possible. On the basis of this information, I told Mr. Drawdy to let the inspector proceed, and to arrange for -the taking of companion photo graphs, and of companion samples. WEG/pC W. E. GREIG WICH09280
