I'm writing to share my latest essay in The Hill," America needs to step up the military to keep China at bay." China has engaged in a vast, ambitious military modernization program, even as almost all other countries have slowed their defense spending. One oft-overlooked aspect is China's emphasis on informational and psychological warfare as part of its "three warfares" strategy. I argue that Washington must reverse its military decline and develop ways to counter China's attempts to "win without fighting."
