As related in earlier phone conversations, PPG believes these events constitute "upset conditions". The newly installed control equipment was and continues to be operated in accordance with designs. Discharge data for residual chlorine and chlorinated hydrocarbons thus far meet or better our expectations. The systems, however, are not performing at the expected efficiencies for copper and nickel removal and PPG is investigating measures to enhance performance.
