Dear Dr. Kehoe:
Attached is a letter I received from
Dr. Francis M. Pottenger, Jr. together with my
reply. "
. ' ' ' , . . ..
I trust the manner in which I have handled this proves satisfactory to you. In view of our recent meeting in Wilmington in which it was more or less decided that you, as Director of Kettering laboratory, would be the "spokesman" for the `TEL Industry; it seemed to me that this was the technique to employ.
If it meets with your approval, I would appreciate receiving a copy of your reply to Dr. Pottenger.

Dear Br. Pottenger:
Realizing your concern about lead contam ination in the air, as evidenced in your letter of May 10th, and to allay any undue apprehension on this matter, I am asking Dr. Kehoe to communicate with you directly on this subject. X would add however, that our information does fully concur with Dr. Kehoe's recent statements.
As you may already know, he and his associ
ates at the Kettering Laboratory have been actively
studying lead metabolism and air pollution for some
years. "Je in Du Pont feel therefore that he is best
qualified to answer your inquiry and to supply the
information you requested that could then be released
to the County Medioal Association.

Assuring you of our desire to cooperate on this matter, I remain
