Enclosed la a copy of tbe ttenotyped report of the Tuesday morning sea*Ion of the joint meeting of the Lead Industries Association and the Zinc Institute held on April 6, 1971 at the Drake Hotel in Chicago.
Beginning 6a page 11 is the talk by Dr. Vaun Hevlll of the EPA. Also enclosed are copies of Dr. Hevlll's slides in proper order relating to his talk.
The above names represent the only persons to receive unedited versions of this paper. Dr. Hevlll vill be given an opportunity to edit the paper for inclusion in the minutes of the LIA-ZI meeting. Therefore, I would ask that this paper not be distributed mdAely, even within your organisations.
Sine a Sill and Kncwltoe vill have at leaat a preliminary report on their task of ferreting out literature on childhood lead poisoning by May 15, I think that ve should give some thought to having a meeting shortly thereafter to review what they have found and also to obtain your thoughts on vhst ve should do about the points raised by Dr. Hevlll. I suggest, therefore, that sometime during the week of May 16 ve have a meeting to discuss thase matters. The site of the meeting will probably be Rev York, or if It is convenient because of the Seven Cities Survey meeting. In Cincinnati. Please indicate to me your pre ference as to a date and site.
Sincerely,
J. y Cole, 6c. D. Manager, Environmental Health
