I should also like to express m y appreciation for the re prints you axe sending to me and for your thoughtfulness con cerning reprints of your two articles now in press. In m y letter of June 1 J to you, I asked whether the blood lead-levels were followed in the cancer patients who were treated with colloidal lead preparations and on whom studies dealing with lead exoretion were made and published in J. Lab. Clin. Med. 1, I 7S (1933) Dr Machle,-who, in your absence, answered my letter, did not go into this ques tion. Will your articles now in press includ^ inf6rmation on this subject? I should appreciate any 'data regarding the lead concentrations found in the blood in these cases that you may have, inasmuch as we have been making similar studies for Dr. W. H. Kraemer and it will be interesting to compare results. Both Dr. E. 0. Kraemer, who accompanied me when I visited your laboratory, and I were sorry that you had not yet returned to Cincinnati at the time we were there. However, we had a very interesting and profitable visit and discussion with Mr. Thamann and Mr. Cholak. We found Mr. Thamann to be very interested in our dithizone extraction method for the determination of minute amounts of lead, and he is anxious to try the procedure himself. I am at present getting the manus cript on this method ready for publication and I shall send Mr. Thamann a copy as soon as possible. It was thought that several phases of our technic could be improved and publicat i o n has been deferred pending further investigation of these points. V - 2- Ur. Thamann has probably mentioned to you the suggestion we made regarding the exohange of leaded blood samples for analysis in our respective laboratories. This will permit a comparison between the spectrographic and the dithizone methods. We are now preparing the samples for Ur. Cholak and expeot to forward them this week.
