Rozand ile At your request, a program has been set up to characterize the VCM con tent in the atmosphere of selected potential excursion areas in the Compound Plant and residual VCM levels in compounds throughout the com pounding process. Table I lists the sample areas and the type of solid samples to be taken. The air sampling will be accomplished with the use of personal monitoring pumps (charcoal tube samples) rather than air "grab" samples. This will allow the establishment of typical personal mon itoring data for all the areas sampled. The program will be started with monitoring of 2022 Gray 148 on 10/30/74 followed by 2825 Natural on 10/31/74 and 2800 Natural 11/1/74, The dates and runs are subject to schedule changes, however, samples will be taken regardless of what compound runs are scheduled. Since the majority of the compounds presently manufactured in Burlington are made with imported or competitive resins, it is planned to run half of the 2901-1 Natural 01, tentatively scheduled for ll/U/74, with T-225/16R manufactured in Burlington to establish a bench mark for residual VCM with low level VCM resin. We will keep you posted of any changes and a report will issue at the ter mination of the program which is expected to be during the week of 11/14/74. Attachment FWK/jst F. W.
