SECTION IV
DEPARTMENT RULES
A. SMOKING PRIVILEGES
Smoking is perm itted on the fir s t and second floors only in the m ain p a rt of the building. No sm oking is allow ed in the build ing le a n -to . No sm oking is p e rm itte d above the second flo o r o r outside of building. No breaks a re p e rm itte d in the f ir s t o r last hour of a shift.
No sm oking is p e rm itte d in the a re a at all on the day shift when handling Toluol o r Butyl A cetate m ixes.
Smoking is perm itted only in the control room and only on the night shift even though there m ay be a finished batch of toluol m ix o r Butyl A cetate m ix holding in the p ro cess tank.
B. LUNCH PERIODS
T h irty (30) m inute * lunch perio d s a re allow ed fo r stra ig h t day w orkers with no set tim e established for going to lunch. Shift w o rk ers a re allow ed tw enty (20) qninutes fo r lunch. At no tim e is the departm ent to be left unattended.
C. STARTING & QUITTING TIMES
All day w orkers s ta r t to w ork at 8:00 A. M. and quit at 4:10 P . M. They leave the departm ent at 4:10 P . M.
Shift w orkers s ta r t to w ork a t 8:00 A. M ., 4:00 P .M . and 12:00 M idnight.
Men com ing on the shift a re allow ed to relieve the m an on duty ten (10) m inutes p rio r to re g u la r startin g tim e providing they assum e full resp o n sib ility of the operations turned over to them .
D. WHEN AND WHERE TO BE RELIEVED
Shift m en w ill not leave th eir jobs until properly relieved and all relieving w ill be done at the job site and no w here else .
E . BATHING
Men working in this departm ent m ust bathe at the end of th eir shift before leaving the plant.

NOTE:
PPO is toxic, avoid contact w ith the eyes o r skin. If any is splashed in the eyes, w ash them with w ater and rep o rt to the d isp en sary . W ash off any spills on the skin with alcohol and follow with soap and w ater.
F . PROCEDURE FOR INSPECTING, LOADING AND SAMPLING INERTEEN TANK CARS
INTRODUCTION:

The follow ing in s tru c tio n s have been p re p a re d to red u ce the p o s sib ility of m aking a shipm ent of pyranol o r in erteen contam inated with foreign m a tte r.
DETAILS:
1. A fter an em pty tank c a r has been spotted a t the loading dock, the c a r w ill be opened by the o p erato r o r rep airm an and inspected by a m e m b e r of su p erv isio n . If the em pty tank c a r ap p ears clean , supervision w ill give approval to load the c a r and reco rd the r e sults of his inspection on the tank c ar data sheet located in the office. If the c a r appears d irty , the c a r in sp ecto r w ill arran g e to have the car cleaned.
2. A fter the c a r is loaded, the o p erato r w ill sam ple the c a r. C are should be taken during the sam pling operation to prevent spillage of m a te ria l around the dom e. All spillage should be w iped up with clean rag s. A fter sam pling, the dome cover should be low ered and bolted, all cloths used fo r wiping up spillage and d irt p articles should be rem oved from the c a r.
