Recently, you ware informed chat Monsanto Springfield' s Uadi cal Department would be 3 cart lag a special health program for emplo7ees who might have come is contact with as asbestos additive raw material used is the Resinox Maaufacturing Department. This update is to inform jou of the progress made to insure the health and safet7 of those emplo7ees.
You should know that we have identified all those wage emplo7ees in the plant who worked in the Resimos Manufacturing Department (1941-1959). Also, we have similar information for the salaried personnel but the salaried information ma7 sot be all inclusive due to the manner in which salaried work histories are recorded. Therefore, all those emplo7ees (wage and salar7) who have been identified as being part of the special health program will be notified b7 plant sail b7 December 15. An7 employees not contacted '07 December 15 , but who worked in Resinas during the 3ttud7 period (1941-1959), should contact Dr. Messell, ascension 2604, to Insure their inclusion in the study.
Also, we have secured the services of a recognised medical espert in the field of asbesto3-related illness. At his direction, we have collected esisting s-ray film os all the identified employees and forwarded these to him for his careful analysis. Any further medical work and recommendations will be based on the results of his findings and his espert opinion.
Again, this effort is part of Monsanto-Springfield's continuing program to insure the health and safety of its employees.
