We have not supplied him with anything of yours, nor shall we do so. You can use your own discretion, therefore, without prejudice, in dealing with him. I can assure you, however, that he appears to be a thoroughly decent fellow. Mr. Combe called me a few days ago to make this request. You will remember,perhaps, that he and an associate of his, involved in the distribution of a lead preparation as a hair dye, came to me some time ago, and for them 1 investigated the matter of the absorption of lead through the scalp (and otherwise) by means of the use of a group of subjects in this Laboratory. I found that this group of instructed subjects dia not absorb appreciable quant ities of lead from the use of the hair dye in an acceptable manner over a short period of time. You have not seen my report on this work, but I shall have no hesitation in supplying it to you if you wish to see it, in connection with your response to -Mr. Combe's requests of you, whatever the latter may be.
