DLM, AHS, and I discussed several questions and came up with the following: COMPUTER SOFTWARE/HARDWARE CHANGES 1. Install 32 KB M3& Memory - (To be done by P-E serviceman about 4/1). This should improve system reliability. 2. The turn on threshold for the beacons needs to be resolved (1 ppm as. per the design is not acceptable). 3. Program for and install a leak alarm. 4. Change leak numbering system such that leaks are numbered sequentially for the month. (if possible) 5. Modify the software to continue data logging if the printer goes down, (if possible) 6. Program .and install a computer failure alarm. (if possible) 7. Try to make the system more resistant to operator shutdown. Some possibilities are: a) Disable the keyboard with a locking switch. b) Put the CRT terminal behind the panel and put a video display be side the printer. 8. Purchase diagnostic programs and scratch floppies. 9. Purchase parallel/serial and parallel/serial converters to improve communications from the computer to the printer. ABD00077811 J. A. Operations responsible for writing a work order when the computer goes down. 4. Use multi-copy leak repair forms (to_be designed by AHS and DLM). 5. Vinyl Operations Supervisoraor distributing reports. Distribution to include JF, CRM, PEM, AHS, DLM. At this point, the main question to be resolved is the beacon turn on thres hold. This needs to be resolved so that programming revisions can commence. Also, we will--incur,additional charges^from CSD for the additional programmine(against the AFE^ The project has*almost $30M remaining, so this should not be a problem^ Also, the proceedural changes need to be revised and modified, if necessary.
