each exposure period the rabbits were unwrapped and the exposed areas wiped
with ethanol:water (50:50) soaked gauze pads. All wrappings and pads were
then sent to Textile Fibers Department forpB----Blanalysis.
No skin irritation was observed during the study.
If Procedure: The purpose of the study was to determine the amount ,
say, of
^JiH----^thamtight migrate from the fabrics to the skin on the rabbits backs.
Afenty-one male New Zealand White rabbits aera clipped freeof hair over the .back and trunk areas and ^fitted with elastic collars. /||fQimpregnated

'of each rabbit. Three rabbita served' as controls and were wrapped with non-NlB--^f1^'1^'1 material. The trunk of each rabbit was wrapped with a
layerofp&scic wrap, gauze Stretch bandage and adhesive stretch tape.
After 4-hr, 8-hr or 24-hr exposure periods, the wrappings were removed and
the exposed areas were wiped With gauze pads which were soaked in a 50;50.,
ethanol:water solution. The atnimals were observed)after unwrapping,for skin
irritation. Yam fibers and gause pads were returned to Textile Fibers
Department for analysis.
