(I have returned, just today, from a much needed vacation, and I hasten without further delay, to report. Other results will follow, but these are sufficient to reveal a dangerous situation.) My interpre tation of the findings is made in a highly practical manner, I enclose also a copy of a letter written to President Willard in reply to his of August 26th. It is important that you, as a physician, should handle the analytical information in some degree of confidence, rather than to have these discussed with the employees by the management or any other layman. It Is because of the problem that presents itself to you as a physician, and also to the management, that I think it would be wise if I were to visit With you and see what can be done to handle it without undue trouble. Incidentally, since the expense of this entire matter is an important factor, I think I should advise you that I make charges for trips of this type in behalf of the Laboratory, at the rate required to reimburse the Laboratory for the time I spend out of my office, ($100.00 per day) plus the expense Incurred in travel. I could, of course, charge more than this for professional services, but the policies of the Laboratory (as a research and consultation unit of the University) are based on our primary purpose of advancing health In Industry at what it costs us to render the necessary services.
