Hoffnan April 2?/ 1962. i . -i* METHOD RESULTS C0NCU5ICK ' Dusting sod risking Test of Csfco Blare-Shield. A submitted sample of 16M by 4' plaater board coated cm era# aid* with a l Inch coating of Cafco Blasa-Shlald appllad at a density of 11.9 Iba. par cubic foot vti mounted cm a aecsl duct 4 x 16" in crosaeccional ara and four fec long, vith the flaxe-Shield in ch Interior of tha'duct. A narrow duct was used to craaca a high `impinging velocity. A filter vai placed at tha blover end and a black cloth collecting filter placed over the open end. The blover wn started and allowed to run for a 1 hour shakedown ^ to renove dust and flakes loosened by handling. At this time, impinging velocity and issuing velocity were checked with an anemometer. Inpinging Velocity on Filter Issuing Velocity 800 ft. per nin 270 ft. per nin After the shakedown, the collector filter was removed, cleaned, and replaced. The blover vas started and allowed to run for 24 hours. At the end of this period the collector filter vas removed and the collected particles counted. A control blank vas then run by replacing the Cafco treated vail board vith a plain vail board and going through the entire procedure again. There vere no visible particles on the blank run. AC an air impinging velocity of 800 ft.per ain. and issuing velocity of 270 ft. per ain., the dust and flake collected at the issuing collector *' filter is calculated to be less then 1 particle per aq. ca. per 24 hours. Air erosion of the Csfco Blare-Shield is negligible. Report Nn 259951 Page_J____ Of- l International Testing Laboratories. Inc. 97u92 MARKET STREET NEWARK 3. NEW JERSEY
