BILL OF LADING DESCRIPTION FOR LCCP BUTADIENE STREAM

The subject stream, when sent to Texaco and Texas Petrochemicals has multiple product code listings entered into COEDS, This is for accounting purposes due to billing based on individual stream constituents rather than only butadiene value. On the Texaco Bill of Lading, five stream constituents with different product codes 5135-00 through 5139-00 are listed. (Attached.) For the HAZ MAT description section, the COEDS system picks the "highest" or numerically largest product code number and prints that corresponding HAZ MAT description. In this case 5139-00 is an LPG, on 1075, description. The cars are properly placarded at loading with a Butadiene, UN 1010, placard, resulting in an inconsistency in the bill.
The Texas Petrochemical bill (attached) lists three product code numbers, 5140-00 through 5741-00. In this case, 5142-00 is a Butadiene, UN1010, description and fortuitously the proper description is printed.
To avoid this problem for the time being, the 5135-00 product code will no longer be used for the Texaco shipment. The 5142-00 number will be used in conjunction with 5136-00 through 5139-00, resulting in the 5142-00 Butadiene 1010 being printed in the HAZ MAT description section.
We will continue to review this particular problem to determine the potential for a similar problem to occur for other product streams. Where indicated, changes will be made.
