At that time he complained o t .knife-like pain in the stomach of 24 hours duration, and of some tachy cardia. The appetite is good and there is no nausea. For the lest few days the bowels have moved two or three times a day and stools have been water;,'. Eating induces these abdominal, pains and they are relieved by a bowel move ment, He has mild constitutions! symptoms. There had been no previous illness like this. The family, marital and habits histories are non-contributory Tie has worked for Fisher Bod;/ for four months as a puffer in the ,:bcoth!;. He wears a hood and an air line mask. He states that he hsc lost from 145 rounds to the present weight of 135 pounds siren he began work at Fisher Body. There are no other ccnpleiuts except for weakness in the knees and the desire to sit around ir, the last week. On physical examination he is an unkempt, thin man of limited intelligence who is coughing nonproductive!;;- frequently. The skin is dirty. Ti e bleed pressure ir the right arm and in the recumbent position is 126 systolic and 70 diastolic. The pul.se is 90 and the respirations are ' per minute. The terruoratiire is 90.6. Physical findings are limited to a distinct dark line at the gum margins, especially at the lingual aspects of the molars, and s rrrde 9 systolic apical bruit. Fluoroscopy of the chest io negative. Laboratory studies show the serology to be negative. The peripheral blood contained 11,300 leukocytes and 4,420,000 erythrocytes per cubic millimeter. The hemoglobin was 11.0 grams. A differential leukocyte count showed 664 polymorphonuclenrs, 304 lymphocytes, 19 monocytes and. 34 eosinophilee, The sedimentation rate was 9 millimeters per hour end the packed cell volume was 32% cells. Three stippled cells were found per 50 fields which is about 250 per million erythrocytes. A voided urine specimen had a specific grevity of 1.020 and a pH of 6.5. The specimen contained no sugar or albumin. The centrifuged sediment contained an occasional epithelial cell. Examination of the blood and urine at the Kettering Laboratory shows 0,59 mg. of lead per liter of urine and 0.39 mg. of lead per 100 grams of blood by the spectrographic method and 0.38 mg. of lead per 100 grans by the dithizone method. 0005199 N7276 page 2 Dr. R. Such symptoms 83 his desire to sit around may be due to lead intoxication. However# I think his principal disorder is acute gastro-enteritis which is not related to lead poisoning.
