Inorganic Division Chlorine Plants - All chlorine area samples taken in the cell rooms were below the 1.0 ppm TLV. Hydrogen sulfide area samples taken on October 24, 1977 Indica ted less than the 10 ppm TLV. A special sample taken on October 3, 1977 showed 20 ppm at the Treatment sump. The personal samples taken on October 28, 1977 was well below the TLV. Two mercury surveys were performed during the month. The surveys had two and four areas respectively, to exceed the 0.1 mg/nd standard. Both surveys indicated that the exposure to the upstairs liquefaction operator exceeded the standard. The results of last month's asbestos survey indicated that all samples (both personal and area) were below the current standard of 2 fibers/cc. Carbon tetrachloride levels taken in the operators1 breathing zone while adding carbon tetrachloride to the G-l Chlorine purge tank' were below the 10 ppm TLV. B, Organic Division Ethylene Oxide/Glycol Plant - The personal samples for vinyl chloride in #1 and 12 inhibitor shacks were less than the 1 ppm standard. I p da s ksv. i/76
