The Governor was extremely appreciative of the Administrator's offer to have somebody from the Political EPA team in DC fly out to Iowa for the meeting with our Water Quality office and Region 7's Water Quality Standards Team. Unfortunately, that meeting ended up getting canceled. Jon Tack from our Water Quality office let us know that the Region 7 Water Quality Standards team had a conference call with the Iowa team before the meeting was to take place and said they disagreed with Iowa's explanation of the EPA's basis for reversal and approval of Iowa's water quality standards, making an in-person meeting pointless. Would it be possible to schedule a phone call with somebody from your team with myself and Jon so that Jon can walk EPA through the reasoning that EPA can use to reverse it's decision? I have attached Iowa's reasoning to this email. Thanks for considering! Stephanie Stephanie Groen | Director of State-Federal Relations Office of the Governor, State of Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt.
