BASIC APPLICATION SECTION 3 LO-TEMP EQUIPMENT & DUCTWORK Page 19 SQUARE EQ, FLANGED JOINT INSUL, (cont'd) 6A2 PORTABLE COVERS NOTE: Access doors, clean out and inspection ports shall have portable insulation covers. 6A2.1 Portable covers shall be fabricated using foamglas insulation and made to permit the removal of the bolts without damaging the adjacent insulation on the equipment body. (See figures 22A and figures 23A & B. 6A2.2 Portable covers shall be fabricated allowing clearance, for the finish, between the cover and the equipment and the equipment insulation. (See figures 23 A & B.) 6A3 EQUIPMENT BODY -INSUL-PIN SPACING 6A3.1 The insulation shall be supported on bottom and side surfaces with insul-pins. Insulation on the top surfaces shall be held in place by the. bedding mastic. 6A3.2 On bottom surfaces, the pins shall be spaced to allow 8 pins for each 12" by 36" board of insulation. (See figure 24.) 6A3.3 Longitudinally, on bottom surfaces, the pins shall be spaces on 9" centers starting 4-1/2" from the end of the equipment body.^^ (See figure 24.)
