Manager, Environmental Health International Lead Zinc Research Organization*. Inc. 292 Madison Avenue New York, New York 10017 Dear Dr. Coles Dr. Goldstein, etal have requested that ILZR0 finance a study "Child Lead Poisoning: Comparative Studies in the Baboon." The results of this study will significantly affect the medical approach to the problem of childhood lead exposure and poisoning. The method of treatment of elevated lead levels which has been used until now is being seriously questioned. However, new thera peutic approaches must await the type of data which will be supplied by this study. Previous research by these investigators makes it apparent that they are well equipped to carry out this study. I hope that your organization will be able to extend financial assistance to this group of investigators. If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to call upon me. Sincerely, VFGrLO Vincent F. Guinea, M.D.Director Bureau of Lead Poisoning Control N11663
