As a result, eight citations were issued for violations of exist ing standards. We thought that all of you would be interested In the items cited which, except for items #J> and #8, concerned themselves with exposures to noise and asbestos. We are alerting you to this action to show where some of the interest of OSHA presently lies and to point out that many of us also are vulnerable In these two areas. We trust that all will benefit from Warrick's misfortune. The penalties imposed are of small concern when compared to the cost of cor recting the conditions for which they were cited. It is of special interest to note that Warrick was cited, not only for failing to require ear protection in the noisy areas, but also for their failure to institute engineering or administrative controls or to document the infeasibility of such controls.
