The meeting was called to order by Mr. J. I. Gardiner, who preaided, and Mr. A. K. Wilaen reported the minutes of the meeting.
The ainutea of the meeting of Auguat 29, were read and approved.
Mr. Beeves presented a Certificate of Merit, which had just been received from the Department of Labor A Industry, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in recognition of a safety reeord at our plant better than the state average for the year 1942.
Mr. Reeves outlined a suggestion submitted by Mr. David McIntyre, of our Oxide Department, covering improvements in the method of grinding certain types of our Litharge, which will result not only in production eoet savings but also in the improvement of tho pro duct. The factory management group having endorsed the rscommenda tion, it wae unanimously approved that a suggested award, in the amount of $50.0, should bo mad# to Mr* Melntyre.
At the suggestion of Mr. Gardiner, it was unanimously decided that this office be closed on Labor Day, September 6, which has been our custom, notwithstanding the emergency conditions existing today.
The regular report of deliveries for the week onding August 29, was submitted by Mr. Wilson.
