I believe an extension would provide adequate time for stakeholders to submit grant applications and would ensure a competitive process that will allow MARAD to allocate the funding more effectively. I understand the importance of adhering to deadlines and know that interested stakeholders have been diligently working on developing strong applications for this grant program. However, due to the short amount of time to compile a complete grant application, I believe an extension of 60 days would be greatly beneficial to ensure the submission of a comprehensive and competitive proposal. I am confident that with an extended deadline, stakeholders can fully address all requirements of the NOFO and provide a proposal that effectively demonstrates the potential impact of their projects. Under this request, the proposed new deadline would be July 14, 2025. Thank you for your understanding and consideration of my request. Please have staff reach out to Noah Barger, noah.barger@mail.house.gov, with my staff if you have any questions.
