As discussed with Ed Kahal, the OSHA Standard 29CFR 1910.1001 (g)(2) exempts bonded asbestos products, however our recommendations to all sites are: 0 Each gasket need not oe labelled; however: 0 All employees who handle bonded asbestos products must be made aware that they contain asbestos which may release friable fibers upon handling, storage, gasket trimming, scraping, removal, disposal, etc. 0 Hazard awareness/training as appropriate should be given to all such employees, who specify, order, receive or handle asbestos products in storage, use, maintenance, transportation and disposal including contract disposal/metal reclamation operations. 0 Protective equipment including respirators and coveralls must be employed whenever tasks are performed which have the potential to deteriorate the bonding and release friable asbestos fibers, such as gasket trimming or scraping gaskets for removal. 1 DUP 0821232 CTTCm THINGS TON aCTTCft UVINO DU 011648
