Operation The pedestal type master is operated manually by a vertical operating lpver.. The master operating lever is normally held mechanically in the "off' position. To advance the operating lever to a'desired speed point, the lever must be shifted toward the master and then advanced to the desired operating position. To operate in the opposite direction, the master handle must be returned to the "off posltipn, and shifted away from the master before the lever can be ' advanoed to the selected operating point In the reverse direction, the throw oi the master handle to 72 degrees in .each direction!
