CONTACTED: BILL HARTMAN - ASST. OPERATIONS MGR. GENE RIALL - OPERATIONS MGR. OBJECTIVE: Check on status of Turbinol 153 replacement. RESULTS: Riall confirmed that Texas Eastern would be using Stauffer's fluid in the first two turbon stations that they are changing from Turbinol 153. They will be using Fire Qual. 220 at Huntsville, and Fire Qual 150 at Yazoo City, M^ss. Riall tells me that both Fire Qual products will have a rust and oxidation inhibitor added. I expressed my disappointment at not receiving the first order for replacement fluid, and Riall stated very frankly that the fact that Texas Eastern installed Stauffer fluid first, does not exclude Monsanto _ from participating in this business. No final decision has been made here, and Riall said he thought before it was all over, Texas Eastern would trial not only Stauffer and Monsanto fluids, but also Houton fluid. He gave no indication of timing as to when Monsanto's fluid would be ordered, but none the less, he made it quite clear we would have our opportunity here. Texas Eastern plans to change out from 4 to 6 turbon stations during 1972--most probably this summer and early fall. Attn: R, E. Hatton - Stl.: Roger, as we discussed, I feel our best short term strategy here would be to wait until late May to confiact Texas Eastern again. Perhaps by that time we will have a better fix on our comparisons on rusting characteristics, and they may have more, information rggarding future change outs.
