VCM air emissions were decreased in both the stack and fugitive categories. The stack emissions were reduced due to more stringent stripping procedures (higher temperature, longer time held under vacuum). The fugitive emissions were reduced as a result of a bagging study completed on the flanges and valves in VCM service.
During 1988 a waste, vacuum/vent dust, was sold as a by-product. Instead of this material being landfilled, it was sold and used in compound production. The amount of barium and lead landfilled was reduced due to this change.

V. LEPC The Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is a committee which incorporates expertise from a variety of sources to produce an accurate and complete plan. The members are appointed by the county commission in a manner that reflects a consensus of the entire community. Members include government, industry, media, transportation, and emergency response representatives. This team approach encourages the inclusion of the whole community in the planning process. The names of the committee members are forwarded to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency for their records.
