Rozand ^/File As we have discussed, your request that certain monitoring trials be com pleted during the first week in November cannot be complied with because of manpower, equipment and timing considerations. The following alterna tives are offered: 1. Monitoring of Matlack Unloading Terminal Propose recheck of ambient levels of and personnel exposure to VCM at the Matlack terminal because of the high values measured during the unloading of Firestone resin containing 600 - 1000 ppm of resid ual VCM. Arrange shipment of Burlington 225 or 10R (or both) contain ing <100 ppm VCM during the week of November 4th, Monitor unloading into bulk trucks during the week of November 18th (based on 10-day shipping time, Burlington to Bayonne). Analyze samples and report week of November 25th. 2. Monitoring of Bergen Norfolk Warehouse Check ambient VCM concentrations in this facility in conjunction with monitoring at Matlack during the week of November 18th. Report week of November 25th. 3. Truck Loading Trials Assuming availability of a "vented" truck with a monitoring tube, this work could begin during the week of November 4th in Burlington with resin containing <100 ppm VCM. Trucks should be loaded and driven for one hour to allpw ventilation, then parked in Burlington for one week. Approximately 4|DM lbs of the same lot should be left stacked on the warehouse floorl Monitoring of personnel should occur during loading of the two trucks knd during the subsequent unloading seven days later. The headspace of the trucks, as well as the air near the stacked pallets in the warehouse should be sampled and analyzed daily. After seven days, the resin stored in the warehouse should be loaded on h truck, and the personnel monitored.
