KOLLATH to Cleveland Headquarters 1'. C. Koltaili Frank C. Kollath, Manager Brandi Credits Western Region, has been pro moted to Cleveland to work with Mr. F. C. Hall, Cieneral Manager Branch Credits. It is always with a sense ol pride and joy that we see one of our own members rise up the ladder of success. Frank joined Western Region in April 1948 as Cashiei Trainee, having pi eviously held the responsible position oi Credit Man ager of the Kollath Mlg. Co., so he was well versed in the credit field. After a brief training period he was assigned to the Chicago Main Branch as Credit Manager. Needless to say, the manner in which he handled this assignment earned recognition for him and when Mr. Thomas needed a field supervisor, in March ol 1950. Frank was number one on the list. August 1, 1951, Frank took over the position of Manager Branch Credits, re placing C. W. Shotwell who was trans ferred to Cleveland, and now, ten years later, August 1, 1961. Frank, also, lias been promoted to Cleveland. During these intervening ten years, Frank has seen his department increase from an inside staff of four to its present staff of eight. There were some sixty odd Branches in Western Region when he took over and now there are 200 plus. This fact alone would suffice to com mend Frank on his leadership, but he has gone faither in his efforts to bring about a top-rating Branches Credit De partment throughout Western Region. This latest promotion gives recognition to the success rl his endeavors. Working hand in hand with Frank, is his lovely wife, Arline, who adds inspira tion and encouragement to her wifely role. Their son, Jim, who is now two years old, has been the source of much happiness and an added incentive to Frank. The employees of the Chicago office gathered in Frank's office Friday morn ing to extend congratulations and bid a fond farewell, as they presented him with a lovely Sheaffer Desk-Pen Set. Sunday, July 30, a group of men and their wives gathered at the White Fence Frank Rcpouski presenting Arline with a beau tiful brooch and earring set. Farm for a party in Frank's honor. After a delicious dinner, they presented him with a beautiful leather suitcase, and, of course, gave him the usual ribbing that goes with the group. Arline was present ed with a gorgeous brooch and earring set, anti while Jim was not present, he was remembered with a gift also. Our very best wishes go with Frank and Arline as they take up their new duties and make their home in new terri tory. It was not easy to say goodbye but each time a person accepts a new chal lenge he opens the door to greater pos sibilities. Congratulations and best of luck, Frank! LACEY -- Manager Branch Credits Robert (Bob) Lacey, who has been Assistant to Frank Kollath, has been assigned to the position of Manager Branch Credits and certainly no one is better fitted to assume the duties and responsibilities than Bob. Bob was employed in September of 1938 as bookkeeper in the Kensington office, October 1939 he was promoted to Assistant Cashier, and in October 1941 he was called to serve his country in the Bob Lacey looks right at home behind his desk, as he assumes the- duties of Manager Branch Credits. Armed Forces, September 15, 1945 Bob resumed his duties as Assistant Cashier. In 1947 Bob was transferred to the Branches C&A Department as our first field supervisor anti played a big part in keeping the department going during the late George Jamieson's illness. In September 1948 Bob took as his bride the charming secretary to G. T. Thomas, Elaine Frazier, formerly of Wausau, Wisconsin and shortly after wards they moved to. Milwaukee where he traveled throughout the Milwaukee Area. In 1952 they moved bark to Chi cago in order that Bob might spend more time in the Chicago Office. Bob was instructor in the Cashier Training Sihool that was established at the Lake Street office and during its i nurse, he trained many young men who became No. 1 Credit Managers. He is what one would call possibly a conserva tive credit man; a man of his word and while he may not always be in agreement with the Braitrh Creilit Managers, 1 dare say he, at all times, has their respect. Bob and Elaine have two sons, Dick age II and Bobby, 4, and Bob spends much time playing the role of father and husband . . . the result, a family who think he's tops. Rog was employed on May 15, 1953 as Assistant Cashier, Springfield, Illinois, i Pewr Rcnitlic and on October ?, he was transferred to Evanston, Illinois as Credit Manager. November 1,1954 he was moved into the Regional Office in the capacity of Relief Cashier. April 1, 1956 he was assigned (o the responsible position of Credit Man ager ofthe Chicago--W, 79th St. Branch. Rog is eminently qualified to take over the duties connected with Branch Credit Supervision, by virtue of his past experience. Added to this exjerience, is a very pleasing personality and the two go hand in hand as any individual ac cepts the challenge of supervision, par ticularly in the credit field. Sunday, May 28, Sandra Jo Phillips became the bride of H. Tom Zweifel, Former Credit Manager of our Algona, Iowa Branch who was recently trans ferred to Fairmont, Minnesota in the same capacity. The wedding took placein the Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. The bride wore a gown ol nylon or gana fashioned with an appliqued roses lining the .Sabrina neckline. The fitted bodice was accented with appliqued roses and the beautiful bouffant skirt had a large bow and streamers in back. Her shoulder length veil of illusion net fell from a i rown of handcut crystals and her flowers were a cascade bouquet ol white carnations and blue stephanotis. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church par lors, after which the happy couple had the joy of taking their first ride in a surrey decorated for the occasion by none other than Ed Farrell, Branch Manager, Algona. Looks like he really took particular pains to see that every thing got "fixed" up just right, as you can see irom the pictures. After a wedding trip, the newlyweds are at home in Fairmont, Minnesota. Indiana is a city ot some 34,000 population, located in the north ern part ot Indiana, bordering the city of South Bend. It derives its name from a beautiful Indian Princess and on April 21st the Sherwin-Williams Company opened a print e of a Branch in that city. The new Manager of the Branch is James (Ned) Schmitt and he is assisted by Lynn Huling who assumes the Credit Manager duties. Both of these men are natives of South Bend. "This pic ture was taken on the `Maid of the Mist' at Niagara Falls, one of the many places we visited last summer while traveling approximately 2500 miles from our home town of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Before arriv ing in Indianapolis last October, Mr. Hodges was able to work in his capacity as printer in the following cities as we traveled across country: Salt Lake City, Denver, Louisville and Detroit. "Typographical Union Headquarters are in Indianapolis and Mr. Hodges is taking a (ourse in a new printing process at the Training Center there. "We both graduated from Victoria High School where we were both active in sports and other extra curriculum ac tivities, including cheerleading for me. "Our interest m sports did not stop after graduation. Mr. Hodges was active in semi-pro baseball. I was a member of the Victoria Girls Drill Team who one Ann and Lowell Hodges year were the honor guard for Ex Presi dent Harry S. Truman in the Portland. Oregon Rose Parade.
