A total organic fluorine measurement was performed until 1993. This measures the amount of fluorine that was covalently bound to carbon in the serum sample. When test data were available, a company physician reviewed each employee's results. These physicians did not, and have not, found abnormalities in individuals that they felt were related to fluorochemical exposure.
