July 27, 1964 \ \ l Mr. Richard H. Davis Industrial Hygienist Loss Prevention Department Liberty Mutual Building One South Wacker Drive Chicago 6, Illinois Dear Mr. Davisi In answer to your letter of July 23 concerning(Pydraul A-200, Z have enolosed a brief summary of the toxioity and safe handling of this product. This summary is self-explanatory. In answer to your question oonoeming the decomposition products of this material, these are essentially hydroohloric acid vapors, oarbon monoxide and phenollcs. Because of the irritating nature of these fumes, voluntary exposure to high concentrations is not possible. A certain amount of the Pydraul A-200 fluid will evaporate into the atmosphere when exposed to heat or hot surfaoes. Although the product has no threshold limit value as such, we reoommend that vapors should not exoeed 1 milligram per cubic meter of continuous exposure. If we oan be of any further help either to you or to Outboard Marine Corporation, we would be glad to do so. Sincerely, JTQiakd Enclosure Jaok T.
