It is my judgment that the intent of these inspections for this year should be communicated to location personnel in a manner that reaffirms. there is no less commitment to safety and housekeeping by Management. The structure of the inspection committee and manner in which the inspec tions are conducted should be designed so as to create an atmosphere similar to that of any other inspection in order to keep the thrust of an annual safety and housekeeping inspection alive for future years. These inspections should be conducted in the same timeframe as previous ones and concluded by mid-October. It should be each location's decision as to the structure of the Safety and Housekeeping Committee and the specific emphasis for "theme" based on individual location needs. Obviously, rating systems will not be applicable.
