H. Detrick Company and Keasbey i: Manison Company A motion was made, seconded and passed That the resignations be accepted with regret. TREASURERS REPORT Mr. Vr. C. Neel outlined the Association's Balance Sheet, Statement of Income and Expenditures, and Comparison of Actual Expense tc Budget as ot March 31, 1964. A motion was made seconded and passed That the Treasurer's Report be accepted and further That the separate accounting pertaining to the sales of the Economic Thickness Manual be discontinued. BROADENING Or MEMBERSHIP The expansion of membership to include foamed plastic manufacturers was discussed. A Committee consisting of Messrs. F. D. Kaley, Chairmen, R. E. Buckley and H. E. Moreno was appointed for the purpose at making recom mendations on the subject at the next scheduled Board of Directors Meetir.r. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF MARKETING REST.-. RC P! CCI-IMITTEE The future projects of the Market:" P.escr.roh Committee, as outlined in the Committee Minutes of March 13, 1964, were discussed. It was agreed that the following were reasonable and practical projects for the Committee to undertake: 1. Define existing statistical reporting product categories and products reported. .2 Work with the Bureau ct Census, Department cf Commerce, etc., to improve government statistical reporting. AIMS AND OBJECT""VE5 OF MARKETING RESEARCH COMMlT'i'^fc (corMr;. ) 3. Attempt-to ascertain the market potential* of competitive materials (foamed plastics, eta.) (with re.pcct to the investigation of Che broidnrJn^ of the Association member ship to encompass foamed piaattc types cf insulation, it was suggested that the Committee be informed of thii fact and contact the special committee investigating this subject). 4. Follow up Mr. R. E. Buclt'ey's letter pertaining to number of hours worked by union locals in 1963. STATISTICAL RErORT.WC It was reported that several comnrnies were unable to report statistics nn a state basis at this time and that Price Waterhouse L Company had been advised to continue statistics on the old basis for the present time (monthly and regional reports). It was decided that 1963 statistics should not be compiled on a state basis inasmuch as. this information is not readily available from the members. Further, it was decided that it was mt practical to establish separate reporting categories for "xtred bJ.-vveeV and "coated blanket", and that the single "faced and coated blanket" category be retained for statistical reporting purposes. The establishment of a separate category for reporting "Prefabricated Duct Systems" was discussed. The glass manufacturers will be letter balloted on this subject prior tc July 1, 1964. NLMA CERTIFICATED?! PROGRAM This subject was discussed ir. detail and i: was decided that such, a program would not be undet'.'tvUcr.. OTHER BUSINESS 1. Mr. Barnhart was asked to contact NFPA relative to membership o on the Air Conditioning Committee. 2. The Duct Systems Committee is asked to present a survey of code changes that have beer, made that increase the use o: prefabricated duct systems. 3. It waa reported that the NIMA lease empires on April 31. 1964. It waa agreed that the lease should bo renewed for 3 years, pravid- . Lag any increase in rent that may be acltcd by tha landlord will not exceed 10 percent.. Mr. J. M. Barnhart will discuss tha new lease with Mr. M. Vf. Burleson baforo sighing. .^ I 4. It was agreed that tha NIMA Annual Mooting would bo held at , .tha Seaviaw Country Club, Absacon. N. J., on Octobor S and . 6 1964 * .5.' It war reported that Jahao-Manville Sales Co'rp., was printing on eortoas. crates, etc., containing asbestos products (calcium silicate, magnesia, asbestos cements) a note pertaining to the dust craotad be theee materials. The wording will be aa fallows: 11 Caution: This product contains asbestos fiber. Tnhilttltm of asbestos in excossivo quantities over long periods of time may be harmful. If dust is created when this product is handled, avoid breathing the dust. If adequate ventilation control is not poesihla waar respirators approved by the (J. S.
