Dear Mr. Van Hartesveldt: I vlsh to acknowledge receipt of your two letters dated July 12 and July 25 respectively, for the sake of the record. With respect to the former letter, I should like to put on record my opinion that the Vito1 can be canned safely at the Pure Oil Terminal which we visited together here in Cincinnati. We will keep in touch with tills situation and will advise you of any developments which may be of mutual interest. I shall also take up this whole subject with the appropriate representatives of the United States Public Health Service for their information and for yours, and I shall advise you of the outcome of this discussion. In the matter of your letter of July this is to let you know that in my opinion the labels designed for use on your quart cans of Vitol appear to be quite satisfactory. However, inasmuch as this may be a matter of some concern to the Public Health Service I shall bring these to their attention. In ray opinion they will approve them as they are, but I shall pass along to you any advice or suggestions which they may have to make concerning them. The agreement, as phrased by your attorneys, is satisfactory from my point of view and is being transmitted to the Board of Directors of the University for their action.
