HEREWITH we present to the Carriage Manufacturers com parative tables showing the difference in time, labor and number ofoperations employed in painting a vehicle with lead and oil and The Sherwin-Williams Co's Perfect Method of Carriage Painting. In preparing these tables we have endeavored to be as conserv ative as possible as to the length of time required to do a first-class job in a custom shop with lead and oil and we have not shortened the time neces sary to do a first-class job with Per fect Method. In many, we might say in- nearly all cases, painters will give much more time between coats where lead and oil are used. In some cases the time might possibly be short ened. The tables apply strictly to Brush Lead on gears. Parties using Rub Lead can draw their own com-

In many cases extra coats of Clear Rubbing Varnish may be used; but as this would be the same whether lead and oil or Perfect Method were used underneath, it would make no differ ence' in the comparison.'

We not only save time on each of the under coats, such as primers and fillers, but we save coats and the cost of applying the same, which constitutes our saving. We claim that a vehicle painted with Perfect Method and finished with good Rubbing and Finishing Varnish will outwear a vehi cle painted with any other system or with lead and oil.
We believe that no Carriage Manu facturer, whether large or small, can afford to do without Perfect Method. If Perfect Method is what we claim it is (and thousands of vehicles painted with Perfect Method prove the truth of our assertions) every Carriage Manufacturer.and repairer needs it In no other way can new work be painted so quickly and so well.
