The Refinery medical examination program for employees mho may he exposed to asbestos dost will be updated to comprehend the recently received Corporate Medical Department Management Guidelines concerning asbeetce dnst exposure. Employe* gelations will provide the Medi Department with the names of employees requiring quarterly .-ai 2. A program vlll be initiated to monitor asbestos dust concentrations at appropriate locations within the Refinery. Stanko and Wescoat will outline this program. Present monitoring techniques are extremely tine--consuming and United in their versatility. Additional monitoring equipment will be ordered for this program, and at the same time an effort vlll be made to determine a more practical technique for moni toring. 3. The Refinery line organization vlll counsel their people concerning operating methods which will eliminate or reduce release of airborne asbestos dust. This vlll include such things as wetting down scrap insolation before sweeping it together, etc. .4 Until concentration levels are established which may dictate additional precautions, people working around asbestos will be encouraged to use available, approved respirators. 5. If the data obtained through monitoring indicate that additional pre cautions are required, then caution signs, protective clothing, etc. will be considered. J. L. Wescoat
