Drinker at 7:30 P.M*, Nov, 10, 1942, in the ;Dithridge Room, Hotel YYebstar Hall, Pittsburgh, Pa, The follow ing members were present: G. C. Harr old,' D, D Irish, Y?, a. Cook, D, E. Cummings, P. Drinker, H. H. Schrenk, K. L. Dunn, T F. Hatch and S. C. Barnes. At the request of the Board of Directors, the following members of the Association were present: A, J. R. Curtis, F, a. Patty and TV. P. Yant, A repiort of the action taken by our Budget Committee and the Board of Directors of the American Association of Industrial Physicians and Surgeons was given by A. Ji. R. Curtis, The formal report of the Budget Committee is in the hands of the Secretary, The results of the Committee's report can be summarized as follows: (1) No additional distribution of funds in connection with the 1941 joint Annual Meeting; (2) The American Association of Industrial Physicians and Surgeons agreed to pay the American Industrial Hygiene Association *300.00 from the profits of the 1942 joint Annual Meeting. (This check has been received by the Secretary!and forwarded to I. Hatch, Treasurer). A motion was made by D. E. Cummings, seconded by G. C. Harrold, and unanimously approved, that the report of the Budget Committee be accepted. The Board of Directors expressed its feeling that the annual Meeting should be held next spring in Rochester, N Y. in accordance with the action taken at the meeting of the Board of Directors on October 28, 1942. P. Drinker will advise the American Association of Industrial Physicians and Surgeons regarding the proposed Annual Meeting and try to make satisfactory arrangements with them. F A. Patty presented a report of the Award Committee. This Committee has considered; many different designs for an Association emblem and their selection was presented to the Board of Directors for their consideration, a motion was made by W. A. Cook,! seconded by G. C. Harrold, and unanimously approved, that the design be accepted with a slight change which is to be made by F. A. Patty. Mr. Patty will forward this design to the Secretary after these recommended changes are made. A motion was made by YY. A. Cook, seconded by D. E. Cummings, and unanimously approved that the first emblem struck from the die be sent to Mr. 0. G. Stam with the compliments of the Board of Directors for his originality in designing the emblem which had been approved. After;a discussion of the proper utilization of trained industrial hygienists in:the war effort, a motion was made by W. a . Cook, seconded by G. C. Harrold, and unanimously approved, that D. E. Cummings, P. Drinker and 17. P. Yant be appointed as a committee to deal with the Procurement and assignment Committee and handle for our Association the obtaining of proper recognition for industrial hygienists. A letter from the American Standards Association was read by D. E. Cummings. They have approved representation of the .American Industrial Hygiene Association on the following American Standards Association Committees; 24, Z5, 29, Z28 and Z42. Committee Z37 will meet in the near future and our re quest for membership on this committee will be taken up by the Z37 Committee at that time. P. Drinker prepared a tentative list of appointees to these committees to be submitted to the American Standards Association. A motion was made by G. C. Harrold, seconded by K. L. Dunn, and approved, that a membership list of the American Industrial Hygiene Association be sent to the U. S. Public Health Service, Division of Industrial Hygiene, Attention; J. J. Bloomfield, as requested in Mr. Bloomfield's letter of October 13, 1942, The Board of Directors recommended that a nominating committee be appointed within, the near future so that they will have an opportunity to present their nominations in adequate time for the voting to take place, as specified in the By-Laws.
