They were weighed and fad d a ily in an o u tsid e com fortable pen for a p erio d o f 25 days, during which period the ra b b its gained from 4 to 7 ounces - 3 rab b its m aintained th e ir o rig in a l weight and one r a b b i t d i e d . The e i g h t r a b b i t s t h a t had g a in e d -weight and appeared in good c o n d itio n were used f o r th e t e s t s . The r a b b i t 3 th a t receiv ed p o u ltic e treatm en ts (3) , (4 ), (5) did n ot e at on the day fo llo w in g th e f i r s t a p p l i c a t i o n but a t e on a l l subsequent days. Tests continued u n t i l Jan. 9, 1925, a t v&ich ti n s a l l the ra b b its m aintained th e ir weight and appeared w e ll. A ll the r a b b its were neroous. CONCHJSIQN The t o x i c i t y o f Lead t e t r a e t h y l has been shown to be g r e a t e r th a n any o f the substance* occuring in the process o f i t s manufacture.
