The sheU plates and heads will be of open hearth firebox quality steel, having a tensile strength of not less than 55,000 pounds nor more than 65,000 pounds per square inch. The longitudinal seams of sheU wUl be of the butt joint..?^!riveted type, with double covering straps and arranged to break joints In the different courses well above the lire line. All girth seams will be lap joint, single riveted. All rivet holes wiU be punched K inch smaU and reamed to full size after plates are assembled. Each head to be thoroughly braced with weldless forged steel braces, so spaced and sufficient In number to con form to the requirements of the A. S. M. E. Boiler Code. Crow-foot type braces 114 inch in diameter will be used above the tubes. Below the tubes, through rods extending from front to rear heads will be used. At the rear head the braces wUl be attached to two 5x3xH inch angles, securely riveted to the rear head and separated from it by extra heavy pipe thimbles to allow circulation of water between the angles and the head. At the front head, the through rods wiU be upset to compensate for threading, and wiU be secured to the bead by means of nuts and washers both inside and outside the head.
