Silver stein, The following issues were discussed at the subject meeting which was held in Conference Room 215, WHQs Coolants - Cutting Fluids The Union was advised that medical examinations were provided to employee at Livonia who were potentially exposed to material containing Petuba. The Company also advised that the same * cutting fluid would be introduced shortly at Sharonville and the same precautions used at Livonia would be implemented at Sharonville. Asbestos The Union representatives continue to press for the Company to include retired employes from Sheldon Road in that plant's medical surveillance program for active employes exposed to asbestos. The Company continues to resist this demand because it might establish a precedent, goes far beyond any regulatory requirement, and could not be handled by the existing medical staff at Sheldon Road* * ** Formaldehyde - *'5 ' * ' . The Company clarified the different ventilation systems in use at Cleveland and MCC, and provided industrial hygiene survey results to the Union from each location* Since the most recent survey * data from Cleveland was in 1976, the Company agreed to conduct an industrial hygiene survey in the near future. Indicates an issue that requires Company action or follow-up. 8008 0117 PRODUCED BY FORD -c- NIOSH Studies The Union representatives advised that they had been in contact with NIOSH and requested that the pending study pertaining to employe exposure to TDI at Utica be concluded as soon as possible. They further indicated that because of their request, a NIOSH representative may visit the plant in the near future. Miscellaneous The Company provided the following data to the Union: . A summary of blood lead test results for 1981. . A copy of a proposed employe bulletin for employes who work with Fyrol in certain assembly plants. Additionally, the parties reviewed two current video tapes pre pared by the Glass Division which dealt with Power Lockout and Safe Glass Handling Practices.
