Dear Dr. Hashed:
Dr* Schaffner forwarded to ae your protocol cm the Sattell# study of the affects of inhaled baby powder in hamsters* I wish to Join Dr. Schaffoer in thanking you for making this information available to ns.
Our toxicologists reviewed the protocol and mentioned that additional valuable data could have been derived from this study if a positive control group, one exposed in sense fashion to asbestos, had been included *
The protocol copy of Juaa 14, 1974 identifies it as a proposal whereas you indicated in your letter of June 25 that it hid been in progress for 15 months. If this is indeed a proposal, perhaps you might consider the racG**ndation expressed by our toxicologist.
In any event, we are looking forward to the results of this investigation.
Sincerely yours,
Heinz J. Menaaim Acting Director Division of Cosmetics Technology
