Table Me. 1 gives a oosparisan of sine aside sales for October and lovember of 1944 and the corresponding months of 19*3. TABLE 10. 1 12*1 1943 lovember October 766,900 Lbs. 1,127,350 Lbs. 693,460 Lbs. 1,154,950 Lbs. lovember sales were considerably under sales for October. There are several reasons for this. One reason for the decline is that for the past several nonths sales of 0.8.P. quality sine oxide made from high grade metal have been shrinking. This Is te be considered more or less normal Inasmuch as sales of this grade seem to run in eyoles of several months. That is, for two or three months they will be exceptionally good and then for the same period of time, they fail off. Another reason Is that during the month of October our sales of sine oxide mads frsoi secondary metal were nearly 600,000 pounds which was a peak, disregarding sales of this type of sine oxide to CVS. During the month of lovember these sales were normal, about 400,000 pounds. The third reason for the decline is that during lovesber we were successful in holding down the sale of leaded sine oxide con siderably more than we were able to hold down the sale of this grade in October. This is the grade on Which we lose money and we sell as little of it as we possibly ean. The lnfornetloa we have is that CVS will use approximately 600 tons of sine oxide per month during the first quarter, lowever, they do not intend to purchase any sine oxide inasmuch as their stocks on hand will be sufficient to take care of their consumption daring this period.
