Saturday morning ve vent to Montreal and presented the Saranac proposal and our reocmendatleas to G. K. Foster. It is our belief that two lines of research should be followed. Hie first is the statistical study previously mentioned. Ve believe that this should be carried out by a Canadian, possibly with the help of sees recognised United States statistician. \ Dr. 0. H. Warwick, Director of the National Cancer Institute of Canada is a personal friend of nine and I have contacted him asking for his views add possible help in this statistical survey. Dr. Cartier and I are to Beet Dr. Varviok in Montreal or here in Asbestos early in October. The second line of research recccsended was the institution of snlmal inhalation ex periments at Saranac, the results to be coordinated with all the pathological, ex perimental, clinical, radiological and engineering information available in Saranac. The Trudeau Foundation has just received a grant for cancer research and are oonduct ing inhalation experiments with aluninun, silloa, lrcc and beryllium. If the asbestos experiments are approved, they will form a fifth part of this program of lung cancer caused by inhaled dusts.
