JAN 15 IS73 Dear Mr. Ayres: In reply to your recent inquiry on the asbestos and talc situation, we have been making periodic checks of both the #499 and #2611 Talcs and to date have found no detectable amounts of Tremolite or any other asbestos type minerals present. Our method of test is the X-Ray Diffraction, Continuous Scanning Method with further qualification using transmission electron microscopy. *C- We have nothing further to report regarding new governmental reg ulations covering asbestos in talc. However, we feel that we are very close to the situtation and as further developments present themselves, we will certainly advise you accordingly.
