Weiss & Co., Inc. 277 Park Avenue New York, New York 10017 Dear Mr. Higgins: I regret very much to be unresponsive to the request in your letter of May 4th, with respect to the findings in following-up the lead in the urine and blood of the eleven persons who yielded high results in the "Three Cities Survey." However, I believe, it would be inappropriate to release these data at this time. They have been reported to Mr. Vernon Mackenzie, who agreed to have the results (in California) obtained and did so through Bob Horton of the Taft Laboratory here in Cincinnati. Since I initiated this procedure, I shall report the findings if Mr. Mackenzie should fail to do so, but he should have the opportunity to do so first. It would be most helpful, if he were to give out this information, in view of his concern about the high values. I think we should let this matter rest until the proper time.
