PLAINTIFF'S EXHIBIT SAF t OSBA-ASBESTOS EXPOSURE PROTECTION FOR'BUILDING TRADES PERSONNEL MEMORANDUM Memo to File Following a three-way conversation between F. J. Beall, D. J. Slack and the writer oh March 4, 1982, D. J. Slack called March 5, 1982 to discuss acceptable precautions for the newly consolidated Building Trades Department, since we will now have former carpenters and painters doing insu lation work. It was determined that the following procedure would protect the individuals and comply with current OSHA regulations j 1. Base line medical condition of each employe will be established in order to monitor potential exposure to asbestos. 2. Protective disposable clothing will be issued within the plant at either the shop, zone office, or work site whenever asbestos material will be handled. 3. Following removal of the protective clothing, the employes will wear their normal work clothes from the plant to~ the Main Locker Room where facilities are provided for all hourly employes to shower and change into street clothes. All the Building Trades Department employes will be provided two lockers to separate their work clothes from their street clothes, if they don't already have two lockers, even though our protective procedures, probably negate this need as an OSHA requirement. { l f WA-TEX 006380 WA-TEX006380 It is not necessary to relocate the former carpenters and painters to another area of the Main Locker Room.
