The letter dated Sentember 23> 1946 from.the Department of Commerce of the State of New York states that certain listed Owens-Corning oatents will be available for licensing in the month of October. The oatent list includes all of Owens-Corning oatents except those which were assigned by foreign inventors and except a few others which do not appear to be of critical imoortance.
The numerous Owens-Coming patents about which we have felt some concern from time to time are included in the list available for licensing.
Patents on the methods and apparatus and glass fiber structure generally are to be licensed on reasonable terms. Patents which cover the use of glass fiber are to be licensed at a flat rate of $5.00 per patent.
It is believed that a discussion of this offer with the various interested members of our organization is in order to determine whether we wish to accroach Owens-Coming for a license under any of their natents at the oresent time.
