This project is related principally to the Fairfield Steel Works of thi3 company* Major producing units at the above works include three blast furnaces and twelve open hearth furnaces (including two under construction) with rolling and finishing mill unite for producing blooms, slabs, billets, plates, structural shapes, bars, cotton ties, rail fastenings, etc. This plant has operated at productive capacity since the beginning of the present emergency due to the continuing demands for increased production by the defense program. This application covers extensions to two existing bath houses. The number of employees requiring bathing and locker facilities at this works greatly exceeds available bath house accommodations. Consequently, the existing bath houses are badly over-crowded. Many lockers are shared by two or more men, and many men do not have lockers. To alleviate the shortage of bath house accommodations, one bath house will be extended 114 feet to provide lockers and bathing facil ities for 576 employees and another bath house will be extended 76 feet to pro vide lockers and the bathing facilities for 384 employees.
